Mind - Body
- The Pathway to Healing
Take time out to nurture yourself...
Breathe slowly and relax...
Focus on the positive...
Our
bodies are designed to heal themselves... so, relax and allow healing
to begin.
Many methods of healing are available to us. The simplest
method to open the pathways of healing for yourself is to set aside several
periods of your day to relax, quieten the mind and allow any tensions
to melt away(eg. Method One). It
is encouraging to know that traditional Western medicine is becoming
aware of the findings that the meditative state promotes the release of
hormones in the body that nurture the healing process.
Traditional
science cannot presently explain why or how it works, but the best way
for it to work is to believe in its powers.
Healing
Methods:
The process of healing with the mind can take many forms. Meditation or
hypnosis can be used to access your inner powers. Whichever method you
choose, or create, remember to believe it is possible and success will
blossom. We are all powerful beings. Below are some techniques to try...
choose the one you feel most comfortable with.
Self Hypnosis - Meditation:
Self hypnosis could be considered as a more controlled or directed form
of meditation. The deepened level of relaxation gained from a meditative
state can very well induce an accelerated healing process. When your mind
and body is calm and relaxed, it is better prepared to heal itself.
Develop a daily meditative routine... the more often you meditate, the
deeper the level of relaxation. It will also help if during the meditation,
you repeat to yourself that you are releasing the illness into the universe
and that you attract healthy energies (prepare the appropriate "thought-words"
before you begin the meditation). It may sound bizarre to some, but the
power of meditation and visualisation will surprise you. The more you
meditate and listen to your own words of encouragement, and the deeper
the relaxation level, the more you’ll notice the positive changes.
If you would prefer to be hypnotised or guided into a healing meditation
by someone else, look for a practitioner in your local area, preferably
recommended by someone you trust. Several "guided" sessions
can enhance the ease of attaining your own deeper levels of meditation
and relaxation.
Believe in your own powers to heal. It’s all in the power of belief, and
everyone has it.
Listening:
If you are
finding it difficult develop a regular meditative routine, then perhaps
you could buy audio tapes/CD's that are designed to help you to relax
and give you positive words of encouragement about your health, or you
could make your own. Each session should last around 10-20 minutes...
two or three times a day. Some tapes/CD's use audible words of encouragement,
while others use subliminal messaging techniques which are designed to
access the subconscious mind directly. If you choose to make your own
tapes, be creative and use a soothing, relaxed tone of voice... and possibly
some relaxing background music. Listening to audio tapes does work.
